Tessa is a potter working on Gundungurra/Tharawal land near Robertson, NSW. Her work explores the contrasts between handbuilt and wheel-thrown techniques, textures, clay bodies colours and apparently perfect and imperfect forms. Largely self taught, her ceramics education has included courses at Canberra Potters Society, Willoughby Workshop, Sydney, in Brooklyn, New York and Hampshire, UK. She has exhibited in Australia and New York and her work is held in collections in Australia, UK, New York and France. She was awarded a 2021 Craft ACT Emerging Artist award. Renowned British ceramacist, Jane Hamlyn MBE describes Tessa as having “..a questioning, exploratory approach, beyond the boundaries of a conventional thrower.
