“Light, likeness and mood. These are the three recurring elements
of my work. The perfect contrast of dark and light transforms a
figure or scene, creating a mood not otherwise imagined. The use of
oils built in layers is my preferred medium, my compositions mostly
figurative with a narrative. I would describe my work as realism with a twist,
often disrupting the image in some shape or form. I draw great inspiration
from past masters of Classicism to Contemporary, and am influenced by the
visual effects of film noir.”
