ARY’s Spring exhibition: Understory presents contemporary painting, sculpture, ceramics, prints, drawings, textiles, and wearable art made by our talented group of local artists: Brock Sykes, Gillian Baldock, Leanne Booth, Marlene Murray, Robyn Rumpf, Slavica Zivkovic, Justin Pearson, Sue Wallace, Toni Warburton, Helen Oprey, Tracy Hopkirk and Wendi Toohey. Understory -meaning a layer of vegetation beneath the main canopy of a forest encompasses ‘undergrowth,’ but can also be looked at through the lens of what is seen and not seen or the layers of a story.
